Tomorrow's Meeting

So, tomorrow, I sit down face to face with one person who, hopefully will begin the process of helping in this situation. It has been a frustrating week for me besides a very difficult one. It seems as if leadership, at times, likes to stick its head in the sand and hope for the best. Or perhaps they are all nervous and not sure what should be done.

I've felt like an accident victim surrounded by amateur, nervous first aide responders. They all circle around hesitantly, but there is no clear chain of command, no good communication, and no clear course of action. It is as if they are all standing around wondering who should do what.

It is frustrating. So pray for the meeting tomorrow, and pray for a good, clear course of action and for wisdom. Pray for patience for me. I am not really a "sit around and wonder what to do" type of person in a crisis. I usually assess quickly, take charge if needed or determine who is in charge and make myself available to them, and act. Circled unsure faces are hard to cope with when it is you lying on the pavement.

Last night I was doing another day of the Beth Moore's Patriarch Bible study, the topic was Down to Egypt, where Abram lied about Sarai being his wife and then Pharoah actually took her into his palace with the intention of marrying her...I was struck once again by how God intervened on Sarai's behalf even as Abram was off doing who-knows-what...well, maybe he was counting the sheep and cattle and other stuff that Pharoah gave him...anyway, I encourage you to place your trust in the Sovereign God who IS watching out for you in all circumstances. I say this for myself as well...I'm like you, I assess quickly, etc. and it's hard when others drag their feet on what seems so obvious to me-and yet who knows what or how God is working in their lives through the situation?...I will be praying for you today!

It is so hard when leaders don't handle situations well. It is hard to be a leader trying to deal with the messes in people's lives due to their own sin or unwillingness to change. I am praying for you and have been constantly. You are on my heart all day long. God is big enough to handle this and fix it. The hardest thing is to wait for Him to intervene and to remember that He doesn't always do it the way we want Him to.

Thanks so much. It is hard to explain how I feel looking at all your comments. Being stuck in a situation where I can't really talk, and therefore can't really ask for prayer is difficult. And to see all of you praying for me is very special.

Meeting went well. Calm. Determined. I think he will act, and will act well in this situation. I feel relieved.

I'll write ya'll an e-mail later on about more news, but I'm a bit tired right now....

Thanks.

Beth - did you get my letter? I don't know if I got a good e-mail address for you or not. Can you e-mail me with your address please?

oh, Becky - I'm doing the Patriarchs, too, a week ahead of you -nya, nya, nya! Actually, I flunked out last year because I missed so many sessions, so I am retaking it.

Another good Beth Moore study - Breaking Free - about breaking through the bonds of things in your life! It's awesome! Check it out!

Yes. Done Breaking Free. It was good, very good. I've also done Daniel and Believing God. I did A Heart Like His, but I don't think I was paying attention yet, didn't do the work involved, so I would like to repeat that one at some point.

I'm resting some today. Still very tired after last week.

I have not done any of those, but would like to do Breaking Free...I've heard so much about it...have done John, Stepping Up (the Psalms of Ascent), and now Patriarchs. I've also read Get Out of That Pit...it was good, too! :) I really relate to her way of expressing herself...very down to earth.
