What's Cooking?

I made salsa! Never done it before. But I grew a garden and had too many tomatoes and peppers and basil and cilantro. It wasn't that bad, and tastes good!

I'm proud of myself today.

Ellie, thanks so much for visiting my blog! I will be checking back in with you regularly and sister...I am praying for you! I don't know you...where you are...what you are going through exactly but as part of the sisterhood of missionary wives and moms...I'm with ya, cheering you on!
Oh, and by the way, your salsa looks delish!

Boy, that looks good! Especially with the basil! I thought about making pico de gallo today, but instead just opened a can of salsa casera to go with the chips...it just doesn't quite cut it, though! Nothing like produce fresh from the garden...

I really liked the basil taste in it. I actually don't like salsa, but what was I to do with all those tomatoes? I don't even like tomatoes! I just grew them because gardens should have tomatoes. My husband loves them, thankfully.

But, I was surprised. I liked the salsa. I think it is the fresh basil taste in it. And I managed to can it,too, so that was nice.

Oh, funny that you don't even like tomatoes! :) My husband doesn't like tomatoes much either, but loves salsa...anyway, that's cool that you liked it! Fresh basil makes most anything taste better...

Ellie, Way to go on making your first ever batch of salsa! I used to make salsa after visiting farmers market in the states. YUMMM! and the flavor it gives to the kitchen as it simmers! Gotta love it!

Thanks for visiting my blog - I'm not yet at 100% healthwise -but now I've got the meds to help me get there.
